Corporate volunteerism programs provide organizations and their employees with resources to volunteer their time and expertise to nonprofits and charities. Volunteering with PRESENT NOW goes beyond team-building—it’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of sheltered families. In December, we were proud to welcome volunteers from Sheridan Group and Mattel’s Product Development Team at our new office to pack Presence of Being Birthday presents.
Vince Velasquez, Marketing Manager with Sheridan Group, said “PRESENT NOW is an outstanding organization with a meaningful mission,” when asked why they chose to volunteer with PRESENT NOW. He continued, “[v]olunteering as a corporate [group] was both enjoyable and fulfilling. Our team loved it so much that we’re making volunteering with PRESENT NOW a regular part of our community service efforts. [We’re] grateful to be part of such an impactful cause!”
Volunteerism and community engagement are integral aspects of Mattel’s philanthropic commitment. As a lead partner of the Presents Program since 2021, Mattel firmly believes in the right of every child to play, considering it one of the most powerful ways to bring about meaningful change in kids’ lives.
Mattel’s dedication to creating a positive impact in the lives of children aligns seamlessly with PRESENT NOW’s mission. In 2023, Mattel hosted a Presence of Mind Back-to-School volunteer event at their headquarters in El Segundo, and a group of volunteers joined us at a Presence of Love Valentine’s Day packing event at Watt Headquarters in Santa Monica.
With our move to our new office space in the fall of 2023, we were able to host a group of volunteers from Mattel’s Product Development team for a Presence of Being (PoB) Birthday gift packing event.
Thanks to our amazing volunteers, including the teams from Sheridan Group and Mattel, PRESENT NOW was able to pack 224 birthday presents for children and young adults living in 41 transitional domestic violence shelters across the country in December!
