October marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to bring attention to the realities faced by millions of families. Often lost in these stories are the children who witness or endure the trauma of domestic violence. Studies show that children exposed to such violence are at risk for emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges, impacting their ability to thrive.
At PRESENT NOW, we are dedicated to easing this burden for youth in transitional domestic violence shelters. Our Presents Program offers more than just gifts; it delivers moments of joy, healing, and empowerment to youth overcoming the trauma of domestic violence. Each gift represents a step toward healing and resilience, helping to foster a brighter future.
We are proud to be part of the Purple Thursday movement, a national day of action during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
